JUST A GIRL, WITH A CAMERA, WHO LIKES TAKING PICTURES.

If you hadn't guessed already (the brand name is a tad of a give away), my name is Kat, and as most of us are, I am more than just one thing! I am a mum of two boys, based in the East Midlands. I'm also a nurse, trained in both physical and mental first aid, and I also happen to be pretty good at taking photos! I love to meet new people, travel and have a keen eye for small details. I have been photographing people for around 4 years, although I've always had the ability to look at a situation and envisage how I'd put it into a photo frame.

Running my own business was absolutely just a pipe dream of mine for a long time. I still blows my mind now that it's something that's come to fruition and I've managed to make it something I can feel passionate about, and take the reins of at the same time.

If you've got any questions, just drop me a message either here on via my social media pages. I'm always up for a chat.

Let me tell you a little more about who I am, and why you might want me with you on your wedding day. Before I started my own photography business, I worked as a nurse for 13 years in the NHS. You'd not think wedding photography and nursing had much in common, would you? But you'd be surprised about quite how many similarities there are! I still have to be good with working with people I have just met. I still have to be good working under pressure in fast paced environments without getting flustered or losing my cool. I still work with people who have anxiety and need some extra reassurance. I still see high demand for meeting deadlines. There's more to just taking photos that people think when it comes to wedding photography, and I pride myself in knowing that I already come with some serious skills in a lot of those other areas, that perhaps not everyone is accustomed to.

How would I described my style to you? Well, I am a little from column A and a little from column B. Column A being what people call a 'documentary photographer' who is someone that captures moments in time throughout the day, the atmosphere, the moments that you miss in the hustle and bustle of the day. The candid's, the fun, the grandma downing her third glass of wine and the 3 year old with his finger permanently up his nose. Those moments. Column B being your more editorial style photos. These are a little more set up, but I bring a natural and relaxed feel to them - I tend to only do this for the couples portraits so you end up with some printable shots for your wall or wedding album that you can look back on and be like, holy sh*t we looked good that day, didn't we?! So you end up with a mix of both candid and editorial style photos for you to keep with you forever!

Who am I as a person? I am perceptive, and I am very good at reading a room. I love dogs and cats the same amount and am generally just a sucker for any small furry animal that looks cuddle-worthy. I am kind and have a good way when it comes to checking in on my clients to make sure they are doing ok. I never just leave you from the minute you book until your wedding day; I will always check in with you at points. I like gin, and wine, but I wouldn't say I'm a heavy drinker. I'm more of your Friday night takeaway with a bottle of wine kinda girl. And I love my bed. My bed is my favourite place in the whole world, and there's nothing I love more than snuggling down at the end of a busy day into some fresh bedding, pulling that eye mask over my head and getting a good sleep (probably was a cat in my old life).

If this wasn't enough and you want to know eeeeven more about me, then just drop me a message! I love to chat and I'll always reply as quick as I can. Look forward to hearing from you!
