FAQs

Where are you based?

Well, I live in Nottingham. But I travel literally anywhere when it comes to capturing photos! You want me with you in Greece? No problem. You're off to a gorge in Wales to get married? I'm there! Don't hesitate to reach out to me because of where I live. The world is our Oyster and if you're travelling, I can do that too.

I don't like having my photo taken - how can you help?

You know what? Not many people I know like having their photo taken. Most of my clients will tell me they are shy, or feel nervous in front of the camera. This is why I always meet my clients before I photograph them, so that we can have a normal chat and you can get to know me a bit. That way, when it comes to your photo session, you have less to feel nervous about because you're not trying to make a good impression. I promise, most people come away saying they actually ENJOYED their photoshoot (seriously!). And if I'm at your wedding, most of the day you won't even notice I'm there.

What types of photography services do you offer?

I offer a variety of photography services, including Wedding & Elopement Photography, Engagements (including surprise engagements), Family Portraits, Maternity and Newborn, as well as Branding Headshots and Event Photography. I do not own a studio, all of my work is known as 'Lifestyle' which means I conduct my photography in outdoor or on location. Feel free to contact me for more information about any of these options.

How long will it be before I receive my final gallery?

I get it! You are going to be SO excited to see your gallery. This is why I try for a pretty fast turn around! You'll always get a sneak peak of your photos within 48 hours of your photoshoot, and then average delivery time is between 6-8 weeks for weddings, 3-5 weeks for maternity & family photoshoots, depending on the season (sometimes it's a bit shorter than this out of peak times!).

How long does a typical photo session last?

For maternity and family photoshoots, I tend to offer these as 1.5 hour sessions. This includes meeting, going for a little walk and allowing you and the kids to relax into the day, and allow time to get you some cracking photos that you can keep for a lifetime. Any less time than this, I feel doesn't always give children the time they need to relax, and it's not fair on them. Any longer, and it's too much time for them and they'll get bored and fidgety. In my experience, this is the best timescale for families.

What happens if the weather is unfavorable on the day of an outdoor shoot?

Unless we are on location somewhere sunny, it's most likely we will be photographing in Britain, and we ALL know what that means - unpredictable weather!

On your wedding day, if it rains, it rains. There is absolutely nothing anyone can do about that, and we will just work around the changeable weather.

Family & Maternity Photoshoots, I usually still try to go ahead with these unless the weather is absolutely horrendous/borderline dangerous! In which case, we just reschedule to the next available time. The last thing we want are cold, damp unhappy little faces in those photos, so sometimes it's best to rain-check (no pun intended!).

Is Photography your only job?

You might be asking this because you've seen me post or write about my other career - which is a nurse. I qualified as a nurse in 2013 and started my photography business after working as a nurse for some time. There is a definite transfer of skills, in terms of still needing to be able to understand and support people, especially if you are feeling anxious in front of the camera, and I generally always have a plaster somewhere on hand (you never know when someone's going to need one!). I enjoy both careers, but am starting to nurse less, and photograph more, which is just the journey I'm on at the moment.

Are you insured?

I sure am! I’m fully insured with both Public Liability Insurance as well as Indemnity Insurance. Your wedding venue may need to know that. I'm happy to provide my policy documents if your venue requires.

How do I book you?

If you feel that I am the right fit for you, then just pop an enquiry through either from my home page, or my contact page, and I will get back to you asap with some questions about what it is you'd like. Then I will be able to send a quote through to you. If you decide you'd like to book, I ask for a 25% non-refundable retainer at the time of booking to secure your date, and ensure I'm yours for the day! The rest of the balance isn't due until 28 days before the date you've booked me for.

Can I spread the cost?

Absolutely! In this economy, it's hard to document life and pay the bills at the same time. If paying for your shoot all in one go feels like a lot, you can always split the cost over a set amount of payments. Just ask.

What are your top 3 tips for a photoshoot?

1. Try not to overthink it. Come as you are and try and enjoy the experience.

2. If you're coming with kids - feed & toilet them before the shoot! Nothing harder than trying to get a hangry toddler to giggle!

3. My ethos is more around capturing real, candid images. Try not to worry too much about posing, and focus more on the experience you're having with your loved ones.

How many photos will I receive?

This will depend on the package you choose, however you will always receive an online digital viewing gallery, which makes it really easy for you to view and select which photos you want to keep. The images can be viewed in high resolution, and will be available to download.
